A Camera Can Be a Dangerous Thing …

in the hands of the untrained.  I’m all for experimenting (in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever used the same camera settings twice), but sometimes you just don’t get what you envision.  With a whole lot of very bad photos to deal with, I attempted to go all artsy for this post.  Please be kind.  ;)

Outfit 1:

Top:  Clu

Skirt:  YSL

Shoes:  Alexander McQueen

Outfit 2:

Sweater:  Anthropologie

Pants:  Target

Booties:  Alexander Wang

I had several accessories to show you in both sets of photos, but those pictures couldn’t be saved … at all.  I expect I’ll reshoot these outfits at a later date, with more tried and true camera settings.

Holiday Look #1

Greetings! Here’s the first of my Holiday Looks I wore to celebrate the Christmas festivities.

I had absolutely no intention of wearing this on the night of this particular party, but I had a wardrobe catastrophe with my intended outfit and had to throw this on in five minutes. It turned out to be a better choice though because it was so cold. And the rest of the look …

The sweater has about a million “jewels” in the topmost band of the Fair Isle …

Sweater: Moschino Cheap and Chic
Bodysuit: Topshop
Skirt: Erin Fetherston
Tights: Wolford
Shoes: YSL
Coat: Moschino Cheap and Chic
Bag: Moschino

I’ll get the other outfits I’ve worn so far up soonish. That’s all for now. — Carole

Then and Now

The Victorian feel of this Couture Couture lace dress makes me imagine being in another time and place.

I wear a vintage necklace and a Stephen Dweck necklace (the one with the flower).

My imaginary time travel ends here with this so-of-the-moment, minimal style, Narciso Rodriguez coat.

YSL Bow bag …

Miu Miu pumps …

Thinking of Victorian era England has put me in the mood for some tea so I’m off now to have some. :) See you soon. — Carole

Broken

Our heat wave has broken.  Yay!  Good thing I bundled up like an Inuit tonight because with cooler temps and air conditioning at full force, I thought I was going to freeze.

The big buttons are my favorite detail on this cardigan. I have a thing for big buttons and plan (sometime in the future) to show you a coat with really big buttons.

Ruffles (on the dress) as far as the eye can see …

Cardigan:  Twinkle, dress:  Un Deux Trois (a kids’ brand), tights:  Wolford, booties:  YSL

Alexander Wang Wrap Sweater

I first saw this sweater at Nordstrom a while ago, but since I had a Saks gift card, I pre-ordered from them.  The sweater arrived a few (maybe three?) weeks ago and I wear it here for the first time …

I also saw this sweater on shopbop and thought the styling so nearly perfect, I borrowed quite heavily.  I don’t do that often (almost never, actually), but at least I admit when I do.  :)

I still love the idea of warm and cool tones together, so I chose gold-toned metal to play against the steely gray of the sweater …

I like this sweater a lot, but sadly, it looks much better on a tall, long-torsoed girl.  That’s not going to stop me from enjoying it though.

sweater:  Alexander Wang, petal skirt:  Moschino Cheap and Chic, thigh-high socks:  Target, booties:  YSL, necklace and bracelet:  f21
