I can’t get over the unbelievably fantastic weather we’re having in sunny California. It’s been in the high 60s and should be in the 70s for the next couple of days. It’s such a pleasure to shoot pictures when I can do so outdoors.

And what better item to wear in this gorgeous weather than these silk, floral print booties I acquired from a Saks 70% off sale?

The bracelet is a gift with purchase. Usually, I give away GWP because I almost never like them. But this one is pretty decent, isn’t it?

Holiday Look #1

Greetings! Here’s the first of my Holiday Looks I wore to celebrate the Christmas festivities.

I had absolutely no intention of wearing this on the night of this particular party, but I had a wardrobe catastrophe with my intended outfit and had to throw this on in five minutes. It turned out to be a better choice though because it was so cold. And the rest of the look …

The sweater has about a million “jewels” in the topmost band of the Fair Isle …

Sweater: Moschino Cheap and Chic
Bodysuit: Topshop
Skirt: Erin Fetherston
Tights: Wolford
Shoes: YSL
Coat: Moschino Cheap and Chic
Bag: Moschino

I’ll get the other outfits I’ve worn so far up soonish. That’s all for now. — Carole

Tucker For Target #2

I have to confess … I had no idea who the latest Target Go designer was when I purchased my items … and I like that!  For the first time, I was able to focus more on the clothes and less on the “spirit” of the collaboration.  Here’s my last batch of Tucker for Target items.  That’s not to say I won’t buy Tucker again … I think it’s likely that I will.

The dress and vest have such a Marsha Brady vibe.

I decided to add a Moschino capelet to the look …

I also wear a Steven Dweck necklace, Wolford tights, and Michael Kors boots.

That’s all for now.  — Carole

Starting Off The Weekend

I’m really looking forward to this weekend — the weather’s just right for this one. Not too hot, not too cold. Plus, now that the July 4th festivities are out of the way, nothing will be overly crowded. I don’t give enough wear time to my absolute favorite skirt, so tonight it gets its chance to go out and about.

This skirt has been living in a too-small space inside its closet and undoubtedly should have been slapped with an iron, but I didn’t feel like it — anyway, the wrinkles will fall out soon enough. :)   Check out the hand painted Scottie dog and rhinestone collar and tongue …

skirt:  Moschino (from the Wizard of Oz collection)

Have a great weekend!  — Carole

Flowers Cubed

There’s no such thing as too many flowers in my book.  With that in mind, I decided to put together three flowery items — a yellow flower print skirt, a flower print watch, and a belt that has about a hundred or so flower appliques.  Let’s look …

The first (and most outstanding) item I’d like to talk about is this flower belt.  As I mentioned above, it must have about a hundred tiny flowers on it.  If you look closely, you can see they are different colors, different prints, and different textures.  Some of the flowers are patent leather, some are crocodile, and some are calf-hair.  There might be plain leather ones too, I’ll need to look more closely myself.  :)

The next item is a yellow flower print skirt.  I don’t wear yellow well, so I always make sure it’s away from my face …

Finally, I show you my flower print watch. Notice how the print on the band is echoed on the watch face …

I chose blue, crackle leather shoes to go with  …

The pictures I took today were taken the latest in the day I’ve ever shot.  Lots of crazy shadows, of course, but I’d thought I’d be OK with the days getting longer.  They weren’t long enough.  ;)
