A Camera Can Be a Dangerous Thing …

in the hands of the untrained.  I’m all for experimenting (in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever used the same camera settings twice), but sometimes you just don’t get what you envision.  With a whole lot of very bad photos to deal with, I attempted to go all artsy for this post.  Please be kind.  ;)

Outfit 1:

Top:  Clu

Skirt:  YSL

Shoes:  Alexander McQueen

Outfit 2:

Sweater:  Anthropologie

Pants:  Target

Booties:  Alexander Wang

I had several accessories to show you in both sets of photos, but those pictures couldn’t be saved … at all.  I expect I’ll reshoot these outfits at a later date, with more tried and true camera settings.

Thanks for reading.  More soon.  — Carole

Before The Miu Miu Bow Bag …

there were these …

The Miu Miu Bow Boot. I don’t remember exactly which year these came out, but it was the season immediately following the release of the Miu Miu Double Strap Mary Jane. While these are several seasons old, I do still like them … a lot. But I don’t wear them much because I prefer to wear heels. You see, I’m not tall, only 5’1″ (maybe a bit less), in fact. So I’m sure you can understand my preference for heels. :)

Anyway, these bows (and leather type) are the same produced on the first release of the bow satchel — the heavier duty pebbled leather.

I also wear some other stuff with my boots …

You may recognize my Fox Run scarf … I try to wear it once a year, that seems to be all I can manage …

And I have a new photo guardian …

From Anthropologie (along with some other goodies soon to appear).  I think this giraffe is supposed to be a planter, but they forgot to drill drainage holes. I’m using it as a vase for now.

Sweater:  Tory Burch

Skirt:  Dolce & Gabbana

Scarf:  Jeremy Scott

Boots:  Miu Miu

That’s all for now.  Thanks for reading — Carole

Trying To Get The Feeling

Hello, Dear Readers.  If you follow my blog, you know that it’s been many days since I last posted.  When I first started blogging, I promised myself that I would do this only as long as I enjoyed it.  Well, blogging has begun to feel like more of a chore than a pleasant hobby lately.  Will that feeling continue?  Do I just need a break?  I don’t know.  Tomorrow, I might decide that there’s nothing more fun than standing in front of the camera and snapping a few shots.  Or I may never feel the urge again.  I guess time will tell.  I took a lot of pictures a couple of weeks ago and rather than parcel them all out, I’m just going to post the whole lot (minus the pontificating).

Update:  I have disabled commenting.  I meant to disable commenting before publishing, but I forgot.  I *do* appreciate the ones I’ve received and I thank you very much.   :)

Anthropologie City Safari Belt

I saw this cute belt at my local Anthropologie a few weeks ago and since I adore giraffes, I had to have this.  After finding one that didn’t have such serious zipper issues (the zippers are tricky/sticky on this piece but resolvable with graphite along the teeth), I had it wrapped up to go.

I sized up one on the belt because I knew that I would wear it over some serious layering (I have on 4 layers in these pictures — it’s cold here!).

With regard to the pocket on this belt, I find it hard to believe that it would be useful for anything other than a bit of folded up money.  Still, maybe that’s all a person needs to keep with herself.

It’s a great little belt. If you want one for yourself, you can find it here.

Pajama Dressing

Today’s look is all about comfort.  I think of an outfit of this type as Pajama Dressing because it is so comfortable, loose, soft, and completely non-restrictive.  Just like pajamas should be.  :)

I’m badly out of focus on these next two pictures, but hey, look at how crisp the fern is.  ;)

I was thrilled to finally locate these shoes. I bought them in Spring 2008 and wore them a couple of times, put them back in their box, and misplaced them.  I’m very happy to have them back in rotation.
