Mr. Sasy and I are headed out for the evening. I wear a Moschino Cheap and Chic lace front sweater (it’s lined BTW, so that’s not skin you’re seeing there :) ) and skirt, a Renaud Pellegrino mink handbag, and Jill Stuart shoes. The sweater and skirt are from different seasons, like usual. One of the great things about Moschino is that they keep their colors consistent among seasons, making mixing-and-matching simple.

Kindly excuse the “hunch back” pose, I only took one full length picture. More coming soon. Thank you for reading. — Carole

Tracy Feith for Target Leather Biker Jacket

In this post, I review the Tracy Feith for Target Leather Biker Jacket. With all the fuss over this piece, imagine my surprise to walk into Target on Tuesday (two days after the “official” release) and see this jacket just hanging there. Prior to walking in, I had no intention of buying any of the Tracy Feith pieces, but that jacket was calling out, “Please take me home!”

What would you like to know, I wonder — Let’s take a stab here …

  • First, it runs true-to-size.
  • Second, it’s pig leather. Not a big deal — often, pig leather is used in “leather linings” and is used for suede creation. I’ve heard some folks complain about pig vs. calf leathers, which is the only reason I mention it. The only “gotcha” about pig leather is that it is somewhat delicate. Also, I think it might be a bad idea to get caught in the rain in this jacket — I don’t know for sure, just a gut feeling, but I think rain would leave water spots.
  • Next, since it’s pig leather, it’s really, really soft. And as much as I hate to use tired phrases, it truly is like butter.
  • And my final observation, it’s good value. *IF* you pay the price Target is charging, it’s totally worth it. If you decide to buy elsewhere, like on ebay, I wouldn’t pay too much over Target price. If you do pay the really big bucks, I think you’ll be disappointed (and maybe even angry.) I would be.

What kind of review would this be without pictures? :) I show the jacket worn open, worn closed, and a closeup …

I also wear a denim skirt by D&G, a blouse I bought in the 80s from Talbots (Talbots used to make really nice, elegant clothes; it’s quite different today, I regret to say), and Loeffler Randall perforated boots.

I picked up one other Tracy Feith Target piece. Review coming soon. — Carole

Today is a very warm day in the Silly Valley, so I wear cool, comfortable cotton garments tonight.

The blouse is a puff-sleeve, drop shoulder number by Moschino Cheap and Chic, the bubble skirt is Moschino, and the shoes are Alexander McQueen.

I also wear a no name camisole underneath and a cool (to me) turtle necklace I picked up at a local yard sale (yay for yard sales!) …

More to come soon. — Carole

I Wear Boots All Summer Long

It’s that time of year again where I make the battle cry, “Let the sales begin!”

I’ve been watching these Martin Margiela boots for about a month or so. While they were just an OK item at full price, at 40% off they suddenly became must-have footwear. They arrived today so I gave them a try this evening.

I also wear a sequin top (underneath) from Sacai, another sheer top from Vera Wang, an “Ottoman” skirt from Target’s Go International line (available here ), and a Tom Binns safety pin bracelet. I really love this bracelet because it’s so quirky and it actually fits my freakishly small wrist (and come to think of it, I got it on sale too :) ). Here’s a closeup …

While I haven’t made the call yet on whether I will be wearing boots all summer long, that phrase *is* one of my favorite lyrics from entertainer and style icon Stevie Nicks and I find it appropriate to this post. More posts coming soon and thanks again for reading. — Carole
