Trying To Get The Feeling
Hello, Dear Readers. If you follow my blog, you know that it’s been many days since I last posted. When I first started blogging, I promised myself that I would do this only as long as I enjoyed it. Well, blogging has begun to feel like more of a chore than a pleasant hobby lately. Will that feeling continue? Do I just need a break? I don’t know. Tomorrow, I might decide that there’s nothing more fun than standing in front of the camera and snapping a few shots. Or I may never feel the urge again. I guess time will tell. I took a lot of pictures a couple of weeks ago and rather than parcel them all out, I’m just going to post the whole lot (minus the pontificating).
Update: I have disabled commenting. I meant to disable commenting before publishing, but I forgot. I *do* appreciate the ones I’ve received and I thank you very much. :)

Starting Off The Weekend

I’m really looking forward to this weekend — the weather’s just right for this one. Not too hot, not too cold. Plus, now that the July 4th festivities are out of the way, nothing will be overly crowded. I don’t give enough wear time to my absolute favorite skirt, so tonight it gets its chance to go out and about.

This skirt has been living in a too-small space inside its closet and undoubtedly should have been slapped with an iron, but I didn’t feel like it — anyway, the wrinkles will fall out soon enough.
Check out the hand painted Scottie dog and rhinestone collar and tongue …

Anthropologie City Safari Belt

I saw this cute belt at my local Anthropologie a few weeks ago and since I adore giraffes, I had to have this. After finding one that didn’t have such serious zipper issues (the zippers are tricky/sticky on this piece but resolvable with graphite along the teeth), I had it wrapped up to go.

I sized up one on the belt because I knew that I would wear it over some serious layering (I have on 4 layers in these pictures — it’s cold here!).

With regard to the pocket on this belt, I find it hard to believe that it would be useful for anything other than a bit of folded up money. Still, maybe that’s all a person needs to keep with herself.
It’s a great little belt. If you want one for yourself, you can find it here.

Go Big or Go Home

Greetings! I hope all of my American readers had a lovely Independence Day weekend. In today’s post, I wear a blouse I’ve had for quite a while. I thought it a “go with everything” kind of item at the time of purchase, but found that it didn’t go with anything I already had in my wardrobe — or maybe I should say it didn’t go with anything I felt did it justice. A few weeks ago, I stumbled across the skirt you see here and immediately thought that I would like these two items paired together.

After pairing the blouse with the skirt, I felt like something was missing. Believe it or not, despite the two different and fairly busy prints, I still felt the look was plain. This told me that it was time to get out the belts. I first tried a plain McQueen belt (elsewhere on the blog) and decided nay. Next, I tried a complex McQueen belt (not on the blog yet) and it was too much. I tried a plain Akris belt (elsewhere on the blog) and didn’t like that one either. My last attempt was a charm belt and though it is kind of a “big” (aka, statement) belt, I decided to go big or go home.

That’s all for this post. Thanks for reading and I’ll be back soon. — Carole
