The Banker’s Heart

I’ve talked a good game for some time (both here and elsewhere) about my Moschino Heart bag and today I deliver. It’s a great bag, but like most of my bags, I don’t carry it much. Perhaps I channel a bit of Carine Roitfeld, since I’m not much of a “bag girl” either. I call my bag “The Banker’s Heart” because it is black and heart shaped. :) Mr. Sasy and I used to walk past the sculpture with the same nickname back in the days we were spending quite a bit of time in San Francisco. Here’s a picture of the sculpture …

Here I wear “The Banker’s Heart” with a cream and dark gray Narciso Rodriguez sweater, and a Michael Kors charcoal gray skirt …

A closeup of the sweater …

The next part of this post is for Joelle at The Owls … It seems that she and I share a fondness for Stevie Nicks -style “wizard” sleeve garments. When Joelle asked me for photos of my “wizard” sleeve jacket, I got the jacket out of storage and snapped several pics of it for her. Here are the pictures of the J. Lindeberg jacket …

Here I show the trench-style jacket closed. Notice how when it’s fastened, the jacket’s buttons are hidden …

The “wizard” sleeve …

The back of the jacket with its cute “disco duck tail” pleating. Shake those tail feathers …

Since that untied belt lends itself so well to getting trapped in car doors, etc., this is how I usually wear it — tied in a bow …

Even the lining is done in what I think of as “Banker’s Tie silk” (though this lining is likely rayon or acetate), fitting in with my banker theme :)

This jacket is from 2004 or 2005 (IIRC) and I used to wear it all of the time. Truth be told, though the “wizard” sleeves look very cool, they are a major pain. They “drag” across everything, so I would usually cuff them up and THAT was not a very cool look. :)

And, finally, the shoes. I picked up these suede YSL booties at the most recent Saks 70% off sale …

I also wear Target ombre tights in charcoal gray & black, a J. Crew “dangling flowers” necklace, and vintage faux pearls.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading. — Carole

  7. The jacket is divine. I love the detailing in the back, but I can see how the sleeves would become a little annoying after awhile! The annoyance would be worth it though – it’s just so beautiful!
