Simple OOTD

These pictures show my simple O(utfit)O(f)T(he)D(ay) from Monday.  I wasn’t feeling at the top of my game here and it’s because I was coming down with a vicious stomach virus, which has knocked me out these last couple of days.

Before the takedown, I wore a brown cashmere sweater from Valentino that has the cutest bow ribbon woven through the middle, a bubble skirt in brown and gray from Gunex, my soon-to-be worn out ombre tights from Target, and Gucci Ostrich Claw pumps.

I bought my Gucci pumps in either fall of 2006 or 2007 (I think) and wore them exactly one time.  They are terribly painful but so hot looking, I decided to try again (especially since I knew I wouldn’t be walking more than a few steps).  Well, they still hurt and maybe I’ll try them again one more time way off in the future.  I don’t have many Gucci shoes and never will, if this is what I can expect.  I probably should break these in around the house, but out of respect for my feet, ankles, and knees, I prefer to wear only these around the house …

Ugg Fluff Slipper

So, now you know a little secret about me … I *do* wear Uggs.  :)

I am beginning to feel like my regular self, so I’ll be posting more soon.  Thanks for reading.  — Carole

  1. This is a really cute outfit. One of my favorites on you I think. I am sorry to hear about the Gucci shoes. Do you think all the Gucci shoes are that painful? I was wondering because I have thought about buying Gucci shoes, but I do not own any. It might be a good thing to know =) I love the Ugg slippers and I wish I could live in cashmere. I don’t know why people freak out about Uggs so much. You have to wear them if you live in a colder place like Colorado =) I am glad you are feeling better now! xoxo

    • Thanks, J. I have one other pair of pumps (from Tom Ford’s time) and they are great! I *had* one pair of boots (they got stolen, but that is a long, boring story) and they should have been more comfortable than they were. I’m definitely a little “gun shy” now. I think if I had to save one pair of shoes for whatever reason, it would be my Ugg Fluffs — I can’t live without those. :) Thanks for your well wishes too. I *do* feel much better.

  2. Simple, but it goes to show how simple can be as gorgeous as a more complicated outfit. This looks great.

  3. Like dailychain said… simple, but with a twist. I love how each piece has a unique element to it.

  4. I have a pair of shoes I desperately try to break in, but haven’t had any luck. It’s such a shame when a pair of pretty shoes have to treat a girl so poorly!

  6. Oh no, those Guccis are so gorgeous, sorry to hear they are hurty. I only have two pairs of Guccis (the Babouska sandals and booties, though for a while the pumps also) but they are all very comfortable.
