I love origami detailing on clothing, when it’s done well. I picked up this dress a couple of years ago for that reason. The dress required a good bit of tailoring and since I was pretty slack in getting that done, I wore it for the first time last Saturday night.
The dress is by Moschino and, in addition to the origami details, has the most interesting tulip shape.

Before we left, I threw on my Jillian Lewis-esque Gryphon coat smothered in ruffles …

Ah, purple is one of my favorite colors to wear (next to green of course
) and that particular shade is to die for! And I love the tights! And of course that fabulous Jillian Lewis-esque coat — I think looking for that coat online is how I found your blog in the first place!

Thanks, Anjali! That dress would kill in an emerald green too, wouldn’t it? It’s funny, when I first got that coat, I didn’t have strong feelings either way about it. But now, the more I wear it, the more I like it.
