The Crow

If I were a bird, I would be a crow. Like crows, I adore pretty, shiny things and the tights I wear tonight are no exception. These are by Wolford and are called “Shooting Star”. I’ve always preferred Wolford tights to any other because not only do they look spectacular, they are the most comfortable tights available anywhere — that is the truest definition of luxury to me. I nearly always wait until they make it to sale though, as this pair did.

Wow! I need a haircut! lol

Here’s a closeup of the rhinestone detail on the tights and the bow detail on the back of my shoes. The shoes, another sale stalked item, are by Moschino. There are still a few pairs left and are available here Revolve Clothing. I believe code “tulip” is still good for 15% off.

And what it looks like from the front …

Since I let the tights and the shoes “do the talking”, so to speak, I wear a simple, black, slip dress by Karl Lagerfeld. Well, we’re off. See you soon. — Carole

The Rat Pack

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, then you know that I have terrible pack rat tendencies. If you’re a new reader, well, you know now. :)

Tonight, I wear a sweater I’ve had for ages. I don’t remember *when* I bought it, but I do remember seeing it in the store, but not really seeing it, if you know what I mean. I must have been on a quest for something else and just walked right past this lovely little thing. Clearly, its image was running in a background process (in my brain), because the next day it popped into my head and wouldn’t leave. I called the store, and just in time too because it was selling out fast, and had it sent to its permanent home. :) Enough, for now, with my rambling words and on to the pictures …

All the flowers you see here are embroidered using various yarns.

The sweater is from Moschino Cheap and Chic and I wear it with a skirt from Target, a belt from Michael (Michael Kors), and Barbara Bui booties I picked up at a shopbop sale some time ago.

And, because it is always cold here at night, I wear a ruffle coat from Moschino Cheap and Chic, which I have had also for a very long time …

The shoes …

Since I don’t know your experiences with American culture, dear readers, “The Rat Pack” can be read about here, if you’re interested.

Cat, Cat, Oh Cat …

A very special piece, I hawkishly watched all season long, finally made it to sale — second mark-down, actually. It’s a “petal skirt” in black silk from Erin Fetherston. When I first saw it, I fell in love. I really, really hate to pay full price, though, and while I love this skirt, I didn’t love it enough to do that. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to.

The skirt is done in double-faced silk satin and explodes into a profusion of “petals”. I wore it on Saturday night with a lace bodysuit from Topshop, a necklace from Roberto Coin, and crackle leather wedges from Moschino Cheap and Chic (as I recall, I watched and waited for the “right price” on the wedges too). :)

It’s a good thing I like girly style as much as I do because I don’t think this skirt could be any more feminine …

I tried (again) for a decent shot of the necklace, but this was the best I could manage (I’ll keep trying though) …

And the shoes …

And now, the reason this post is titled, “Cat, Cat, Oh Cat”, is because when my new skirt arrived, I tried it on and facetiously played around with an Audrey Hepburn “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” look …

Not an exact “Audrey”, but I think the essence is there.

The other items I played “dress up” with are a shell from Heidi Weisel, a Jose Barrera necklace, a silver disk bracelet from Devon Leigh, a rhinestone necklace from Target I wrap several times around my other wrist, a silver flower pin I wear in my hair from QVC, and Miu Miu double strap Mary Janes.

I appreciate you stopping by. More to come soon. — Carole

Child’s Play

Tonight I wear a blue dress I bought from the kids’ department at Neiman’s. I actually have several pieces from the kids’ department — it makes a lot of sense for me because today’s kids dress so cute and (the really big reason) I never need tailoring with a kid’s garment. Unfortunately, Neiman’s is on to me and others of my ilk since I notice they are stocking fewer and fewer kids’ pieces at “my” store. Anyway, the dress is a brand called Un Deux Trois and I pair it with my favorite black cardigan, a no name piece I picked up several years ago. I wish I had bought every single one they had because I love it so. Plus, the SAs look at me like I’ve lost my mind as I roam and roam and roam around the store, to this day, trying to find more like it — truly a shame I didn’t grab more of these. Well, enough about my troubles … I belt the dress and cardigan with an Alexander McQueen belt and wear shoes also by Alexander McQueen.

Some more pictures …

And here, Mr. Sasy was being feisty which made me giggly …

The front of the dress is ruffle madness. Dress detail …

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by. — Carole

Rompin’ Around (Part 2) — After Five Edition

I have to admit, I never in a million years imagined I would wear the oh-so-trendy romper — at least not in public. Several weeks ago, I picked up two — a gray one and one in black at Target. Why not? They were cheap, at $12 each. I thought, at first, I would just wear them around the house. But after realizing their incredible comfort and very good coverage (no worse than a mini skirt really), I decided to romp out into the world. I wore the gray one last week (you can read about it here: Rompin’ around) and tonight I decided it might be fun to go for a more elegant, evening look with the black one.

I wear the romper with a tuxedo jacket from Piazza Sempione, shoes from Laurence Dacade, and black pearls from Mikimoto that Mr. Sasy gave me for one of my birthdays.

Here’s a better shot of the shoes …
