A Cover Up

No, this is not a post about the latest left-wing or right-wing conspiracy :) , it’s about cleverly keeping my injured knee away from view.  If you follow my blog, then you know I’ve been nursing a rather persistent knee injury.  Obviously, I’m much better now because I’m back in my heels, but I still have an unattractive wrap around my knee.  Since we are going to a very, very nice restaurant tonight, I don’t want to look gimpy (even though I am at the moment).

I wear a top by Jean Paul Gaultier, a tiered dress worn as a skirt from Target,  Giuseppe Zanotti wedges from the upcoming season, and vintage earrings from the 80s.  I also belted the top with a belt from an old Bebe dress.  It was my first and last Bebe purchase it turns out, no particular reason, just the way it is.  Closeup of the shoes …

I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to getting out and going somewhere nice, especially since I’ve been home-bound for the past week.  Anyway, we are going to one of my favorite restaurants.  The food they serve is some of the tastiest and innovative anywhere.  In fact, the chef is a recent “Iron Chef America” champion, beating out Bobby Flay.  Mr. Sasy and I *never* watch tv (well, Mr. Sasy does occasionally enjoy “The History Channel”, *I* never watch),  though we *did* make an exception for this episode of ICA.  I have to say that Chef Kinch cooked the pants off of Flay.   Also fascinating is that one of this restaurant’s sommeliers looks exactly like a young Yves Saint Laurent – I hope he’s there this evening as I get such a kick out of that (and like Chef Kinch, he’s exceptional at his art too).  All in all, it should shape up to be a nice little “get out of the house” evening, so I’m sure you can understand my excitement.

Well, we’re off.  More posts are coming soon.  Thanks for checking back.  — Carole

  1. I love the way you managed to fashion that Target dress look into a luxurious looking full length gown :)

Is the restaurant you’re talking about Manresa? I’ve heard such lovely things about it. I’ve always meant to go there since it is so close to my house. Anyway, hope you enjoyed your evening!

  2. Mmmh AND you truly hide your “knee injury’s collateral damages” with such a High-Class/ stylish way Dear !!!
ps: The contrast porcelain skin complexion / “GLAMazon-esque” black is so sensually aesthetic, AND the geometrical shape of your “Giuseppe Zanotti” design heels subtly “Fetishistic” (a fortiori with such polished/refined toes) . . .
    Hope You’re Well.

  3. Hello again. Just wanted to say how inspirational your blog is – you make me want to be as beautiful as you. :) You really have a way with putting clothes together. I like how you’re not afraid to mix Target with designers and it all looks very expensive on you. Best wishes.
