I Like Big Bows

Jean Paul Gaultier, Target, Balmain

Today I felt like wearing something fun and playful. I put on a big bow blouse by Jean Paul Gaultier from either S/S 2008 or S/S 2007, a skirt from Target, and shoes from Balmain.

Doesn’t the title of this post remind you of the song, “I Like Big Butts”, by MC Hammer? I hope I haven’t put that song into your head for the day, like I’ve done to myself. :( More soon. — Carole

Blue Mood

I’ve been unable to post over the last couple of days because I lost my machine. After the last two days of slugging it out with Windows, hard drives, cables, adapters, etc., I can say that my mood is definitely blue. To take a break from it all, Mr. Sasy and I are getting away for a couple of hours. I try to cheer myself up in a Derek Lam top, a Moschino Cheap and Chic skirt, an Akris belt, Alexander McQueen shoes, and earrings I’ve had since the eighties.

I love the whimsy of this skirt.  If you look closely, you’ll see that half of the skirt is ruffled and the other half is pleated.  Next, I show a closeup of the earrings I bought sometime in the mid-eighties.  I adore these — they’ve always felt so Christian Lacroix to me …

That’s all for now.  Wish me speed in my replacement machine’s arrival.  Until then, I will continue to torture myself with my Mac.  More soon.  –  Carole

Fringe, Beads, and Chains

Just a casual outfit for a casual outing.  Layers are so important where I live. It can go from blistering hot to almost frigid very quickly. So I bring out a lightweight Graham & Spencer top, a Free People scarf-like device (it’s not really a scarf OR a poncho, so if you know what this thing is called, PLMK), and a D&G denim skirt.

I call this pose, “I find the floor infinitely fascinating”, aka the most common “blogger pose” on the planet. But, you know, I’m not a model, so …

In the following closeup, I show you a belt I “made”. I bought two old necklaces from yard sales and decided to combine them to make a chain belt.

And the shoes I’ve had for a long time. For the life of me, I can’t remember what season they’re from — I can only vaguely remember getting them.

That’s all for now, but more is coming soon.  I haven’t forgotten about that second Tracy Feith review I promised.  TTYL, Carole

After looking at today’s picture, I couldn’t help but remember Alexis from the 80s prime-time soap opera, “Dynasty.” In fact, I was compelled to ask myself the question, “Carole, are you finally having an 80s’ revelation?”

Can you see it?

As you know (if you read my blog regularly), I don’t like to revisit the eighties; but to be fair, not *everything* was bad about the decade. I recall the hats being quite good :)

I guess I don’t have to stress much about appearing too 80s, since my dress is very 70s “Age of Aquarius” looking, but I digress …

Anyway, the hat is by Loro Piana, the dress is Theory, and the boots are Martin Margiela.

I hope you all had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Now that I’m back in town, I will pick up the pace on posting again. Thanks for reading. — Carole

Mr. Sasy and I are headed out for the evening. I wear a Moschino Cheap and Chic lace front sweater (it’s lined BTW, so that’s not skin you’re seeing there :) ) and skirt, a Renaud Pellegrino mink handbag, and Jill Stuart shoes. The sweater and skirt are from different seasons, like usual. One of the great things about Moschino is that they keep their colors consistent among seasons, making mixing-and-matching simple.

Kindly excuse the “hunch back” pose, I only took one full length picture. More coming soon. Thank you for reading. — Carole
