It’s Been a Taxing Week …

Much to do this past week, not to mention the always dreaded April 15 tax filing.  Anyway, that’s why I haven’t posted this week — just too busy.  In this post, I wear a lot of stuff from Moschino (What can I say?  It fits me well off the rack.)  Both the coat and shoes are main line and the dress is Cheap and Chic.

The shoes are a latte colored patent leather and have black faceted “jewels” on top.  Detail of the shoes …

The handbag is Timmy Woods.  I bought this bag long before the “Sex and the City” movie (in fact, it was on “deep sale” when I bought it — I guess nobody wanted it until Carrie had one.)  Because of the film, I put it away for a while and now have decided to trot it out ;) again.

I plan to post again around the middle of  next week.  I am starting up a new project and expect to be quite busy.  Thanks for reading.  –Carole

Good morning and Happy Easter!

Moschino, Edmundo Castillo

Moschino, Edmundo Castillo

Today I wear a dress and chiffon capelet by Moschino and shoes from Edmundo Castillo.  I’ve had all of these items for a long time, but some longer than others :)   The shoes are from Edmundo Castillo, back when he had his own line.  He may ( or may not) still design for himself, but he’s currently the creative designer for Sergio Rossi.

The dress is from Spring 2005 or 2006 and has the cutest big bow across the bust.  Picture without the capelet …

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter.  See you soon,  — Carole

Thinking Pink

I discovered I was in a pink mood this evening.  So I broke out my washed leather, pale pink jacket from Burberry Prorsum.  I paired it with a Michael Kors cashmere sweater (also pink :) ), a Valentino skirt in navy, and blue crackled leather shoes from Moschino.

Without the jacket …

The skirt is constructed in an interesting manner.  At the waist is a heavy black band to which the navy wool is gathered and attached.  The skirt falls in a tulip shape, which is a little hard to see because of the way I’m standing.  I also wear vintage “pearls” from the ’80s and an Elizabeth Showers chain.

I love boucle fabric.  Boucle always  reminds me of classic Chanel suits.  BUT, today I chose a boucle jacket from Milly and a boucle skirt from Moschino — this way I get the fabric I love, but not the “stuffiness” of a classic Chanel suit.

Underneath the jacket is a Heidi Weisel top that I wear A LOT and a chalcedony necklace from Alison Mezey.  Without the jacket …

I love the details on these shoes.  First, they have a Nicholas Kirkwood – esque platform bottom and the tulle wrapped “pearls” across the top remind me of the necklaces done similarly by Lanvin several seasons ago.  Finally, a detail picture of the shoes …

Akris, Derek Lam, Dolce & Gabbana, In God We Trust

After running around all day last Saturday, I didn’t have the energy to “go all out” for Saturday night.  So, I opted for a casual and comfortable dinner outfit consisting of a navy blue sweater from one of my very favorite brands, Akris.  I paired it with a navy Derek Lam skirt, a necklace from In God We Trust, and Dolce & Gabbana snake skin shoes from last year.
