Tracy Reese, Akris Punto, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Miu Miu

Sometimes it’s too much effort to go all out, so I kept it fairly simple this evening.  I wear a beaded top from Tracy Reese, a skirt from Akris Punto, shoes from Miu Miu, and because it’s not really in my nature to keep a look *too* simple, the bag is from Moschino Cheap and Chic.

The beaded detail on the top is really beautiful.  Though it’s a little hard to see, I made an effort to show a closeup …

The shoes are Miu Miu and are from at least 2 or 3 years ago.

Channeling a Village Person

After looking at my pictures of last night’s outfit, I couldn’t help chuckling to myself and thinking that I must have felt (unconsciously) inspired by the Native American-attired member of the Village People.  I wore a Maison Martin Margiela “Big Sky” dress, a feather and “faux”-stoned necklace from Marni, sequin leggings from Express (would have been more authentic if the leggings had been beaded suede though), and shoes from Miu Miu.  I had a lot of fun wearing it and here it is …

Oh no, now I can’t get “Y.M.C.A.” out of my head.  More to come soon & thanks always for reading.  — Carole

Inspired by Beyonce

When I first saw the picture of Beyonce wearing that gorgeous ruffled trench, I gasped.  I knew that I had to find that Jillian Lewis coat (BTW, it’s available at Searle), yet something kept nagging at me.  Then I remembered I *have* a ruffled coat fairly similar to that one.  I found it and here it is …

Gryphon

My coat is by Gryphon.  I’ve had it at least 2 (maybe more) years.  I am always forgetting what I have — see, that’s what happens when you’re a pack rat.  Here’s the back …

The coat has linen and metal in its fabric, so it tends to “crinkle” a bit.  And underneath …

Family Day At The Beach

Filed under: Uncategorized — SASY @ 7:32 pm

Today was Casey’s first big outing.  We went to the beach.  Kindly excuse the lack of makeup and better clothing  — I just can’t imagine wearing makeup and nice clothes to the beach.

The beaches of Northern California are so cold.  I needed my puffer.

The wind was really strong today too.  I had to hold my hat nearly the whole time.  Wow!  My nose is as red as a lobster — I guess my sunscreen isn’t doing its job.

Casey makes a friend …

A couple of random beach pictures …

A snooze on the way home.  Casey had a large day, I think.

This week we decided to add another member to the family.  Meet Casey …

Casey

More Casey

Casey is a rescue dog from Rocket Dog Rescue. Casey is likely a Lab/Australian Cattle Dog mix and is somewhere between 6 and 8 years old. She had been mistreated by a previous owner, but those days are over –  she’ll be spoiled rotten from here on out  :)

Even More Casey

Casey’s such a sweet girl and is happily snoring right now as she naps.  At this point in time, she’s not too crazy about having her picture taken, but can be bought for dog cookies.

Regardless of Casey moving in, this has been a hairier than expected week. I expect to post more outfit pictures next week (and they’ll be worth your while.) Hopefully, my pooch will want to join in.

If you live in the Bay Area or closeby and are considering a new pet, I urge you to consider Rocket Dog Rescue. I am in no way affiliated with them, but I’m extremely impressed with the fantastic work they do.

Thanks for checking back and see you soon. — Carole
